Do You Hear That Sound?

“Do you hear that sound? That’s the sound of freedom.”

Quote from the movie “Sound Of Freedom”

No other movie release in recent history has received the attention “The Sound Of Freedom” has, since “The Passion Of The Christ”! The amazing number of people who have supported the film since it’s opening on the Fourth of July truly lifts the spirit and gives one hope. Living in Hollywood with a long career in the entertainment business, I have experienced up-close the joy of success when a morally based movie does well, but also the deep disappointment when an audience doesn’t show up or respond to a worthy project.

Thankfully, the outcome of the movie “Sound Of Freedom” has been an undeniable success, which many of us are rejoicing in. The significant support for this extraordinary project has been nothing less than inspiring.

Bravo to ‎Angel Studios · ‎Alejandro Gómez Monteverde (Director/writer) Rod Barr (writer) for getting this movie in theaters and to Jim Caviezel and Eduardo Verástegui ·  Mira Sorvino · Bill Camp along with the entire cast and crew for giving themselves and their talents to a higher call. But the ultimate admiration goes to Tim Ballard for his amazing real life heroism in risking it all to rescue these children and bring the perpetrators to justice.

If you haven’t seen this film I would strongly encourage you to do so. The reality of human trafficking must be exposed and dealt with globally and locally. By attending this film you will help bring attention to this horrific crime against children. According to statistics, the estimated number of precious children who go missing is close to two million every year!

Shamefully, America is one of the most prevalent destinations for these victims.

Here are some ways we can respond to this.

First, let’s call out the responsibility that lies on the shoulders of tech giants and social media companies who claim they can’t do more to eliminate the despicable displays of child pornography populating their sites, while at the same time are able to target, hold back, or even cancel individual accounts they claim as “hate speech”. Isn’t the violation of dear children the worst of hateful activity? Shouldn’t THAT be canceled?

Second, continue to support projects like “Sound Of Freedom”. In spite of substantial evidence that there is a large audience who support films and TV shows that uphold wholesome values, the typical studio still claims these projects won’t make them money. We must continue to PROVE THEM WRONG! I’m sure you feel as passionate as I do about shutting down evil to make this world a better place for all. I’m seriously ready to take the gloves off L especially when it comes to protecting children.

Third, pray with a firm belief in God’s transforming power to change situations that otherwise seem impossible.

Lastly, be sure to see the movie before it’s no longer in theaters! Then find ways to raise awareness (like sharing this blog) or speaking out through your own blog or platform. Also, volunteer or donate to organizations where you can turn your outrage into action.

This may feel like an uphill battle, but the worst thing we can do is to give up. As the saying goes:

“Evil prevails when good people do nothing.”
